Nanaimo to Lund

We left Nanaimo around 10:00 after a trip to the grocery store and taking on some fuel.. The trip across the Strait of Georgia was easy with a light South wind and 1ft chop. Even the Restricted Area WG was inactive because of the holiday Monday (Victoria Day.)  

We arrived in Lund in some rain and the passage of a cold front. The forecast is for snow to 3500 ft a and they have warnings out for the mountain passes in BC tonight. We won't seen that but it is supposed to get colder. 

The shrimp season is on here and when we arrived Bob bought 2 lbs of shrimp off one of the boats. That's fresh shrimp...they were still moving when they went in the pot!

Lund is a fun spot with a really good bakery, a yarn store, a hotel and friendly people. When I went to check out the Boardwalk Restaurant the chef was sitting in the front room cleaning shrimp right off the boats.

Tomorrow we will head out, after some fresh bakery breakfast for the narrows and the rapids at Dent and Yuculta. Slack water is around 15:00. Right now we are drying out from the rain and getting ready to go to sleep...sunset is 21:00 today.
